openVPN+NAT = Netbios names?

Post by markoolio » Fri Feb 17, 2012 7:14 pm

is it possible to have the vpn (openvpn-as) in nat mode and still be using the netbios names on windows network (actually a w2k3 exchange domain) ??? how?

[ vpn gives nat address 5.x.. and the lan to access is 192.168.1.x and by netbios name i mean \\pcname\sharename
using the ip adress is not good enough at this point. openvpn-as is installed into ubuntu 10.1 pc ]

This got solved "almost" by rebooting and downloading a new connection app that the vpn server provides.

But the problem is that the https port is NOT the default because it's reserved to another meaning.
And when using the connector second time, it will always try to open the default https port and fails.
Only way to use vpn is to trigger it manyally from this cryptic address.. not so good and easy solution.

Can it be configuret correctly in to the client somehow ??

This problem got solved by manually adding netbios server ip to the vpn-as config pages.
