Hi All,
I am a complete newbie trying to get a VPN network up and running. I was following a very good example here:
http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/security ... th-openvpn
However, in this example, they are connecting a remote site (client-side) to the main office (server-side) using the routing method. I am looking to have a 'similar' setup except I would like clients to be able to VPN from the road via laptops (i.e. it is impossible to know the IP of the client-side router). In other words I won't know the IP address of the remote site (client-side) router. Yet in the example, the author uses the IP address of the client side router in several parts:
http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/security ... l=&start=2
http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/security ... l=&start=3
My main question is how to achieve the same VPN (with routing) without knowing the client-side router IP address? Any help is appreciated.
Cheers!

Re: Setting up VPN from Main Office to Traveling Laptop
hi there,
please dont double post.
to your question now
a typical openvpn scanerio is one-server -- many clients
all you need is static ip for your SERVER..
you dont need to know the clients ip...
please read the documentation from openvpn site.
cheers,
Michael
