Force DNS on specific domain name

Post by eucalyptus30 » Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:26 am

Hi everybody,

I have a VPN witch work perfectly. I route all client traffic through the VPN perfectly.

BUT i want to do that when the VPN is activated, the IP associated to a specific domain name change. (In fact, it's like add a line in the hosts file [10.8.0.1 mywebsite.com]).
And when the VPN is shutting down, the IP associated is restored.
Have you an idea?

Sorry for my bad English (I’m French).

Thank you,
Eucalyptus30

hi there,

how about using a nameserver inside your lan?
would this solve the problem you have?

if yes check --dhcp-option type [parm] documentation (dns server)

cheers,

michael.

hi there,

if you use the dns service from windows is relatively easy to configure
bind (*nix) is very powerfull but a little more difficult...

both require basic knowledge of DNS...
