Can we run the new version “OpenVPN 2.2-beta5 -- released on 2010.12.03” on x64 (64 bit) system?

I have no idea which operating system you are referring to. But in general, yes, that should work out just fine. I'm using 64 bit versions of OpenVPN on Fedora without any issues, and I know many others do that on other Linux distributions and also FreeBSD based ones.

As far as I know, it should also not be any problem running a 32bit version of OpenVPN on a 64 bit Windows as well. We don't have specific 64 bit versions of OpenVPN for Windows yet.

And please report any bugs you might find to our bug tracker.
