I have set up OpenVPN 2.09 on our company laptops. All clients have Windows XP SP3 and are part of our domain. Clients are Lenovo T60s T500s, and T41s.
We have a third party Internet Provider that setup our Firewall and our SSL certs for OpenVPN.
Now my problem is this. I have one T60 and one T500 that can connect/add routes and both can access network resources using \\domain name\shared folder, \\fqdn\shared folder\, & \\ip address\shared folder.
However, other clients can only connect/add routes, and access network resources using \\ip address\shared folder. These clients can ping domain name, FQDN, & IP Address. On the other hand, when I first boot up these laptops on the domain network, unplug it from LAN, connect wireless, and connect openVPN. I'm able to access network resources using \\domain name\shared folder, \\fqdn\shared folder\, & \\ip address\shared folder. However, once I reboot these laptops (without being connected to the domain network), connect to wireless, and connect to openVPN, I can only access network resources using \\ip address\shared folder. Again, these clients can ping domain name, FQDN & IP Address.
I also noticed that this only happens when I receive "Working Offline" notification on the taskbar.
Let me know if I need to provide any other info.
Thanks
