Hi!,
I'm trying to create a OpenVPN bridge for two different remote networks (in different physical places). Both network sides, will share the same subnet... for instance, it could be 172.17.0.0/24 in both sides. I can have the 172.17.0.10 in one side and 172.17.0.20 in the other side. The machines in side A should be accessible from B and vice versa.
I have seen that OpenVPN should have a server-bridge param for it's config. In the examples, I have seen server-bridge requires a pool of ips. Are they really required?. I would need that for instance at 17:20 time the ip 172.17.0.10 to be in side A but at 17:21 the ip 172.17.0.10 to be answering in side B. I mean, I don't have a group of ips for each side.
So, without having a range of ips of the subnet reserved for side A of the vpn and some other for the side B, can OpenVPN redirect properly arp traffic, so that each server from each side can access to any server in the other side (without ip ranges reserved for each side of the vpn)?.
Cheers!
OpenVPN bridge without ip ranges reserved for each side of the VPN
