OpenVPN GUI requires Admin permissions?

Post by hkaiser » Fri Apr 01, 2022 10:42 am

Since 2.5 or since a windows update

OpenVPN GUI requires again to be in Administrator role

It was afaik fixed years ago that OpenVPN GUI uses a service, which has the required permissions and the user is able to simply run the VPN via the Service.

Is anyone around who can confirm this?
Sounds for me like a regression issue

No it does not.

You must make your non-admin user a member of the openvpn-admin group.
