Hello,
I was using a VPN service provider who use OpenVPN, as soon as my subscription expired and I got disconnected, my entire network adapter was bricked, and I cannot access the internet at all. I am using Windows 7. I figure this is some DHCP setting that was set in the process that didn't get set back to normal once I was disconnected (OpenVPN was trying to force reconect but gave DNS resolution errors). Trying to right click my network icon and troubleshoot the issue reads "local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration" and my network is "unidentified network". Using ipconfig gives me an autoconfiguration IPv4 address in the 169.254/16 range, and doing /release and /renew proved fruitless (as well as disabling IPv6 capability). How can I set DHCP settings (or any other setting it is breaking) back to defaults? If theres anything I need to be more clear about I'll be happy to go into more detail.
Thanks
OpenVPN Bricked my network adapter, please help :(
