Am I leaving myself vulnerable by using battery saver mode?

Am I leaving myself vulnerable by using battery saver mode?

I'm using a paid VPN plan that I access with OpenVPN on Android. 100% of my data is through mobile, never wifi. Rather than having VPN always on, I've enabled battery saver mode (turns off when screen is blank.) By doing so, am I leaving myself vulnerable in any way?
