Missing external PKI alias - Mac OSX

I have set up a QNAP NAS at home and I am trying to use OpenVPN to connect to the home NAS server and I keep getting " Missing External PKI Alias" error. My config file is okay. I have checked port forwarding on my router as well and the port is open. Any help as to what I need to do on my macbook pro would be appreciated.
