First and foremost I want to make it clear that I am completely new to VPN's and this is my first time attempting to install one so please go easy on me with the lingo as networking is not my strong point but I am willing to learn if pointed in the right direction.
The test machine I am using to flush out any problems prior to deployment on others has an x86 Windows 7 OS. After install, moving the config files to the config folder and attempting to connect, the OpenVPN GUI states that the connection was successful but the TAP ethernet driver as "local area connection 2" appears with a status of "unidentified network" and I receive a connection error when trying to load a web page in a browser. All other consecutive attempts the OpenVPN GUI states that the connection was unsuccessful and comes up with the error "netsh command failed: returned error code 1".
Is this possibly due to Windows firewall rules? Which rules need to be enabled?
