OpenVPN breaks on jailbroken iphone

I'm running OpenVPN 1.2.7 build 4 along with yalu102 jailbreak on iphone 6S. I can start making a VPN connection. However, as soon as I open an application, the VPN connection is closed. Disabling the jailbreak, OpenVPN runs just fine. Any suggestion how to overcome the issue on jailbroken device.
