OpenVPN Connect: DNS fails on Tab4 tablet, works on S3 phone

I am working through getting OpenVPN working using server in ASUS RT-AC66R router and OpenVPN Connect clients in a Samsung Tab4 tablet and a Samsung S3 phone.

After resolving many issues, I am not at this state--
-Successful connections and web browsing using the Samsung S3 phone.
-Successful connections but no web browsing using the Tab4 due to DNS not resolving

The interesting this is, they are connecting to the same server, so the config there is obviously same for both,

and the client ovpn files are identical. I log in with the same user name/pwd (for simplicity during set up; I never connect both at same time).

Yet, it does not work in the Tab4 (and that is the one I really want to have work, more than the phone).

Does anyone have a clue as to why the same setup will work in the phone but fail in the Tab4?
