starting from scratch

Want to connect my home LAN with my personal office LAN and have some basic questions.
1. Do I need an openVPN supporting router at each location or just one at either location?
2. Do I need to install the openVPN software on every computer at each location or only on one on each location, or...?
3. Or do I just need the openVPN software installed on some computers and use regular routers without openVPN support?
4. Or do i just need openVPN supporting routers and can forget about the openVPN software?
