Hello openVPN community,
Long story short, i use openvpn & SSL to connect to a proxy server, so that I can play Games online, through these servers, as they give me a substantially better ping.
I installed openVPN a while back, I think i installed the pre-compiled version. I don't remember setting up anything advanced, or dealing with certificates and all that Jazz. Everything worked perfectly until a month or so ago. Now whenever I try to connect to these remote proxy servers (Hide my ass Proxy servers, www.hidemyass.com), i get a certificate verification error. I've tried reinstalling openVPN a couple of times to no avail. Any help would be appreciated, keep in mind i've never really compiled files for openvpn before and don't really get that part. keep in mind i'm somewhat of a noob in that sense.
Thanks all, good day:)!

Re: VERIFY ERROR all of the sudden
Hi there. I just had the exact same issue today with my VPN connection using Hide My Ass. Exact same error message. I've tried many things to solve it and found the solution eventually.
-I was setting up my connection on a Linux Mint 15 system. The VPN was working fine untill last month. Then today I had to connect and Baammm Time Out every time!!
-I tried to log from a Windows client and it worked straight away, so my account wasn't the cause
-I tried various method, rebooting (solved some time out issues in the past), reinstalling openvpn and curl, trying to find updated certificates. None worked, untill I found the LATEST certificates lost somewhere on HMA website. These guys are definitely NOT Linux gurus... The certificates are located there : http://zdcdn.hidemyass.com/other/linux.zip
-Now for a bit of trolling... Warning messages in the log file are warnings, not Errors, so they usually not stop the connection attempt... Otherwise they would cause an Error and then they would be called Error messages... Duuuhhh
Hope this will help. It is quite unfortunate that HMA team takes so little time to cleanup their Wiki and Website so that users could point directly to the latest certificates and list of acces points. I've had the same issue many times in the past...
