Don't connect on home network

Post by radiocolin » Fri Mar 07, 2014 5:29 pm

I have OpenVPN server running on my Tomato router at home.

I connect using a dynamic DNS service, with appropriate ports being forwarded.

I leave OpenVPN connected pretty much any time I am out on cellular or public wifi.

When I come home, my phone is on wifi from the same router that is running OpenVPN. OpenVPN tries to connect via the Internet with the dynamic DNS hostname, and the result is no internet connectivity on my phone.

Is there a way I can set this up so that a) it "connects" properly at home and has internet connectivity or b) it just doesn't try to connect at all when on the home network?

For example, could I make 192.168.1.1 the first address to try in the list?
