What do I have to do to create a .ovpn file?

I have followed instructions on creating a ca, a server key, and a client key on my Ubuntu 12.10 laptop, but the client key only creates:

COPY THESE TO CLIENT
 Copy the following files to the client using a secure method:

    /etc/openvpn/ca.crt

    /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/client1.crt

    /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/client1.key
