Profile error: File too large
So I have downloaded the OpenVPN Connect iOS client and have an OpenVPN Access Server virtual appliance running on my PC via VMWare Workstation. The server has been configured and works fine to connect from a Windows/Mac/Linux machine. The problem I am running into when trying to import the profile onto an iOS device (iPhone, or iPad I tried both) is that the .ovpn profile file is too large... the file is about 531KB, but the OpenVPN Connect for iOS says that the limit is 250KB. I completed a fresh install of the OpenVPN AS in another VM, but this time with mostly default settings and the .ovpn profile I get from this install is tiny in comparison to the other (only 7KB vs 531KB). I am guessing that this is because I have uploaded an SSL certificate to my OpenVPN AS web server, so that there is no SSL warning on the web browser when the clients connect to the login page. Since that is the only real difference between my two AS installs, I am guessing the SSL cert for the OVPN AS web server is being included in the .ovpn file and is making the profile too large for an import in iOS. Does anyone know if I can manually edit the .ovpn file to make it small enough to import to an iOS device but still able to connect to the OVPN AS? Any help would be much appreciated...

Re: Profile error: File too large
*UPDATE* Alright so I managed to figure this one out myself. I manually edited the profile and simply removed all of the -----BEGIN X509 CRL----- and -----END X509 CRL----- tags from the profile (along with the text between the tags which I'm assuming are the x509 SSL certs for the AS web server). This cut the profile down to about 90k (well below the 250k size limit). I was then able to import the profile in iOS and have successfully connected to my VPN
Hopefully this can help someone else with the same issue...
