Blocking clients from connecting from a specific IP

Is it possible to prevent clients from connecting from a specific IP or local subnet?

Having issues with notebooks that had active connections then waking their notebooks from standby in the office causing network issues when the client re-connects from within a subnet that is part of the VPN.

Or should i try to handle this via Firewall?
