OpenVPN AS - Browsing Client Subnet from Host subnet

Post by darrylpaa » Thu May 24, 2012 6:22 pm

I have been testing the Access Server Ubuntu version on Windows Hyper-V.

My first go-around was using a relatively simple approach that allowed a client to connect from the remote location to the server location and have the ability to connect using RDP to Windows PC's, telnet to Linux and be able to ping other active IP's on that network.
I can say that this all worked nicely.

My next adventure would be to not only allow the client to see the host subnet but also allow the host subnet systems to ping and connect to remote devices like printers.

I altered the server settings based on my understanding (or lack of) of what was needed. With those changes I then downloaded the client install again and cleanly installed the newer client on the remote PC.
I could do what I had done before from the client to the host subnet but there was no response from the remote subnet when pings were sent from the host subnet.

There may be settings that I need to change or something else but I am not a network analyst so I am somewhat stuck at this point.

Perhaps someone could guide me to a working example which would include any server settings as well as any expected changes to routing on any other equipment.

I can provide the conf files if someone advises where they are stored.

Thanks for taking the time to read this...
