What can I return to OpenVPN from a plugin and How it works

Hi, everybody
In the OpenVPN plugin interface of version 2, a parameter called return_list is added. The document said it is used to return data back to OpenVPN from a plugin function. But I don't know what data I can return to OpenVPN and how to use it. Does anyone know that?
