OpenVPN Connect Windows

Post by Muzdrav » Tue Dec 08, 2020 2:39 pm

Hello,
my apologizes for writing this under Android, but I couldn't find OpenVPN Connect Windows.

I'm just learning from the beginning and see, you mostly speak about OpenVPN server, but I have bought a TP-Link Archer C2300 v2.0, which has built-in OpenVPN function, to which I can connect to with OpenVPN Connect.
My upload is 10mb/s, download is 40mb/s (on both sides), but I can get only 50 - 300kbit out of the connection. All I need is at least 2mb/s for one bookeeping program.
I'm trying to make it faster for a month and a half (TCP, UDP, dozens of ports (allows only 1024 - 65535), but without succsess.
Do you think there is a problem somewhere, or is this all I can get? I contacted even TP-link support, they said the router's OpenVPN can make 10mb/s with no problem. The router is connected right to the satelite of the internet provider. Also, it is strange, that when I connect to OPENVPN on the home's lan, when I'm inside my house, the speed is the same (50 - 500kb/s).
Do you think anybode could help me?
Thank you.
Regards
M.

Tried OpenVPN GUI, with the same result. Or did you mean I should build a OpenVPN server on a computer without windows?

You misunderstand (or maybe we do?).

Don't use OpenVPN Connect Windows but download the Windows installer from here:
https://openvpn.net/community-downloads
I gloomily came to the ironic conclusion that if you take a highly intelligent person and give them the best possible, elite education, then you will most likely wind up with an academic who is completely impervious to reality.

I tried it, the connection is still only 250kb/s. Do you think the TP-LINK is simply that slow?

I suspect this is the issue.

Do you think I should use other router for the satelite and then connect OpenVPN router to it? There would be much more forwarding.
Im connecting to my public IP, which is then forwarded to my OpenVPN router.

You need to pay careful attention to your openvpn logs. There may be problems due to your network.

Set --verb 4 server and client and then check your logs for problems.

There is a satelite on the roof, from which comes an blue like ethernet cable (but smaller), this blue cable goes into an adapter with AC supply, on the other side of the adapter, normal ethernet cable goes to the the WAN of the router. 3 PCs and one wifi as acces point are connected with LAN cable to this router.

My experience of consumer grade satellite internet uses the satellite for download only and uses the telephone for upstream data .. is this the case for you ?
