Open VPN AS updates and let's encrypt questions

I'm using the AWS 10 user appliance.

1) When I update, I see the message:

The following packages have been kept back:
openvpn-as

Should I unpin and upgrade the openvpn-as package?

2) I want to use let's encrypt for the SSL certificate. I followed a couple of guides and I have the certificates in pem form but I seem to have broken the SSL interface as it no longer responds. Are there any good instructions on how to use lets encrypt with the openvpn appliance

Found a typo. Was going to re-create what I did but for some reason the openvpnas home directory is owned by root and I lost the history file. I am getting the impression that this appliance is not very well maintained.
