IOS + Netgear + open VPN not working in 3 months... anyone can hep me ??

Hi everyone, i guess i am not the only one with this ...
i got lost thought all the post on the forum not able to find the real trouble and fix it...

everything was working correctly but since i updated all app on my phone everything changed i had many problems.(few months ago)

but let me explain the symptoms first

i have a Netgear nighthawk router (recently reseted and updated firmware)
- VPN is configured as explained in the manual and tutorials.

i have an iphone 8 IOS 12.0.1
with open VPN (3.02.(894) installed and with my config file imported.

i can connect with no error. (good news !!!)
i also see some data passing on the graphic but only some bytes...
however, no internet page are coming up, and no streaming nothing.

i saw the thing about the compression and changing the setting on the server, but i dont understand where i need to change it ...

i am not a netgeek...

Also i am sorry if this is already fixed in an other post... i am just totally knockout to not finding the solutions...

Hello, thank you for the fowrad, howerver after reading it, i dont get what i should do.
this is not user friendly has it was before the update.
can you please help me with a little bit more of information.
