No certificate found even after import via iTunes

Post by iseeker » Fri Nov 02, 2018 6:07 pm

Running own VPN Server on synology nas. exported .ovpn and ca.cert files. Only changes made to .ovpn file is to add my DDNS name and removed the # from the "redirect-gateway....". Added those files to my iphone 8 (running latest ios 12) via itunes. Created profile in the openvpn app. When I try to select a certificate, the only option is "none". When I go to settings --> certificates in the openvpn app, it says "you have no certificates added yet". I've double checked that the ca.cert file was imported via itunes (and done it again).

I've check this FAQ below and don't see anything specific to my problem (but I'm a finance major so....)

https://docs.openvpn.net/connecting/con ... nnect-ios/

Thanks in advance.

I saw that link yesterday when reading. Workaround for combining the .ovpn and .cert files in to one IF you can't use iTunes to move the files over. I can use iTunes and don't really want to send my key via email (as post says: not secure).
