Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS): issues
Hi,
After update to 1.2.5, the OpenVPN connect can not access to the keychain, where I store the certificates to connect to my VPN server.
Any idea to how to fix this?
Thanks in advance

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS) do not find certificates
The entire release is broken beyond belief.
1. Certificate present in the iOS keychain are not found.
2. A user is now unable to rename a connection.
3. When, on the random chance, the updated app saves the renamed profile you are then unable to connect to the profile receiving an error 'Profile not Enabled'.
4. After enabling 'save password', the radio button to indicate a connection stays to the left, meaning you have an open connection, but no green radio button.
The entire thing is a DISASTER of a release.

Not working at all, always disconnects ((((((( Please return 1.2.4, which worked perfectly. During update the new version deletes your VPN profiles, so if you are abroad you'll have no access to your VPN server until you return and use your home iTunes again. You'll also have a duplicate profiles after using iTunes again and continuous disconnect. PLEASE RETURN VERSION 1.2.4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS): issues
Hello and thanks for reporting your issues with the new App.
Unfortunately, due to the way the new Apple API works, the App is restricted from accessing the iOS keychain.
Keys have to be imported in the OpenVPN Connect App keychain directly in order to be visible.
This can be done by renaming the extension of your PKCS#12 file to .ovpn12 (instead of .p12 of .pfx) and then sharing the file with the App (same as you would do with a ovpn profile).
Once you shared the file, the key/cert will be saved in the App keychain and will be available for use.
We are currently working with Apple to find a way to have at least partly access to the iOS keychain again.
We are sorry for this change in behaviour. We tried to highlight this change in the changelog, but it was probably not enough.
For those unable to import profiles at all, could you please let us know if you get any error message at all?

What about points 2,3 & 4? The application is unusable once a profile is successfully renamed. The app needs to be pulled!

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS): issues
I have opened internal tickets for them and we are working on fixing them as soon as possible. Unfortunately, AppStore does not allow us to easily rollback.

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS): issues
The new version is working fine for me and I have not experienced any issues as described earlier. Although I have configured my VPN settings via mobileconfig file.
I did notice when switching between my VPN servers in the app, that I got the “OpenVPN profile is not selected”. I had to go to the iOS VPN settings and choose the server from there, then return back to the OpenVPN app and connect. Never had to do that with previous versions so not sure if that is a bug or by design in the latest version.
The only recommendation I have is that the next update include iPhone X display support so that the app is edge to edge rather than letterboxed.

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS) do not find certificates
Just rephrasing with my own words to make sure I understood:
1. you enter a password and save it
2. you click on the connect button
3. the connection starts and the profile gets connected
4. even though the point above is true, the connect button remains grey and on the left
Could you confirm if the above is correct?
Thanks a lot

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS): issues
This is not expected behaviour. It might be due to the fact that the various profiles have been loaded via mobileconfig files. I am opening an internal ticket to investigate the issue.seanob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 4:31 amThe new version is working fine for me and I have not experienced any issues as described earlier. We already have an internal ticket for that. Should be fixed soon.

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS): issues
Please rollback it to 1.2.4 and I'll not update it at all in future. Version 1.2.4 worked perfectly on my iPad4 with iOS 9. But now is not working (((( On 1.2.4 the connection was ansolutely stable and I was connected to my VPN server for hours, but now is a mess: disconnect every 10-60 seconds and I should every time go to the application and switch it on manualy again and again. I'm not going to update iOS to 11, so why I can not use the app 1.2.4? Please put it to the market again for the users with iOS 9 and below
Or put to the market the stable version 1.2.4 with a different name for example OpenVPN Connect Old for the users who don't need iOS X

Re: Upgrade to OpenVPN 1.2.5 (iOS): issues
As I mentioned above, the AppStore does not allow us to easily rollback to an earlier version. This is why we are committed in fixing these bugs as soon as possible.
However, v1.2.4 has never been public. Maybe you are referring to the old 1.1.1 version that was previously on the AppStore?
When that happen, could you please send the connection log to iOS @ openvpn . net ? That should help us understand what's wrong.
Thanks

I don't know if it's related or not, but in my case tls-auth is not working: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=25594
