VPN On Demand, Apple Configurater 2

I have successfully setup my iPhone using the OpenVPN app to connect to my Mikrotik router. I have done this with certificates that I have created on the actual Mikrotik router as well as certificates created on my windows machine using easy-rsa. However, no matter what I did, I was unable to get On Demand VPN to work using a profile created on Apple Configurater 2 with either of those two sets of certificates. My iPhone is unsupervised, but my understanding is that that does not matter. I need to have VPN open as much as possible while I'm in Egypt as the idiots in charge of this idiotic country have banned VoIP and I need to be connected to my SIP server while outside my home.
