Hello. I have been using OpenVPN Connect on my Alcatel One Touch Fierce (Android 4.2.2) for some time now without any real issues. A few days ago, I bought a better phone (Nexus 4, Android 5.1.1) and have installed my apps onto it. I've run into a few issues but one of the biggest issues is that I can't connect to local IPs on my Wi-Fi network when I have OpenVPN connected to a server.
All internet connections work just fine and go through the VPN as expected, but if I try to connect to an IP on my home network, my connection just times out. I figure maybe it is routing traffic through the VPN server instead of directly to the IP on my network, but this wasn't an issue on my Android 4.2.2 phone and I am using the same version of OpenVPN connect (1.1.16) on both phones. I also do not have this issue on any other device I connect from, including my Desktop. I am using the same OpenVPN profile for all of my devices (right down to using the same file), but this phone is the only one having this issue.
My network is 192.168.2.0/24 and my phone's IP on the network is 192.168.2.22. I tried to reach the following IPs: 192.168.2.254 (my desktop, I was trying to connect to RDP over TCP), then 192.168.2.1 (my router/default gateway, I was using ICMP to ping it), but trying to contact both IPs resulted in timeouts.
It might also be worth mentioning that I can connect TO my phone just fine, just not FROM my phone. I was able to SSH into the phone from my desktop but was subsequently unable to ping my desktop from my phone.
I have tried disabling mobile connectivity (in case it's trying to use the wrong connection), but I still cannot connect. I have also tried disabling the VPN, and this fixes the issue, but I would like to avoid having to disconnect from my VPN server each time I want to make a connection to a local computer, as I normally connect to the internet through the VPN.

Unable to Connect to Local IPs with VPN Enabled (Lollipop)

For 5.1.1, can you try OpenVPN for Android from Arne Schwabe?
After installing and importing *.ovpn don`t change any settings in App.

Hello. I have installed that app, and it has, in fact, fixed the issue I was having with LAN connectivity. It also fixed another issue I was having with a specific app (Xabber) not being able to connect. Thank you for the help!Pippin wrote:For 5.1.1, can you try OpenVPN for Android from Arne Schwabe?
