Lollipop on Nexus 5 - OpenVPN Killing the Battery

Since the upgrade to Lollipop the battery life on my Nexus 5 has been woefull - appears OpenVPN is the culprit with the system reporting 42% of the battery was consumed by this application.

Anyone else having similar issues or know any tweaks specific to Lollipop, never had this problem with KitKat.
