Can not ping default gateway after connecting?

Can not ping default gateway after connecting?

I installed OpenVPN Client 2.3.4 yesterday on a Compaq laptop running Windows 7 (32bit)
and am trying to connect to my Home VPN Asus router which has address 192.168.1.1.

After connecting I can not ping the router/gateway at 192.168.1.1 and can't reach other
machines behind the network too. My log file is as under:

I have moderate knowledge of networking and will appreciate if you could help me.

BTW, I have another laptop running an older version of OpenVPN client and it can ping default gateway
and every thing works there.
