Local services stop working when OpenVPN connected

I use a copy of Servers Ultimate Pro to connect to my android via ssh, samba or basic http/mysql services. But whenever I activate openvpn, those services stop responding on the local wifi. I've checked and I can log into the remote system and connect from there, but I cannot connect locally even if I configure the SUP to use the local 'wan' interface specifically and even if I set it to 'all' interfaces. As soon as I turn openvpn off, everything works as expected.

Is there any way to keep the local wifi access working for local services when openvpn is connected to my home network?
