VPN inside School Network

Post by vitallish » Wed Apr 23, 2014 11:38 pm

Hello,

I am hoping for some help with a setup i'm trying to achieve. The idea is that I will have one computer located within a school network. The school network is your typical network where I have no access to the router for configuration. I want to be able to access this device (and the school network) from outside of the school network.
My questions arise from the fact that I won't be able to set up the school network machine as a server since there is no way to access it through the public IP.

I hope my explanation makes sense; I'm happy to further explain. Any help is appreciated,

V

hi there,
I want to be able to access this device (and the school network)
if you setup openvpn server in your home computer and the client portion on your school pc
then you can access this pc from your home but NOT the entire school network...

except if you use NAT on your school pc ;)

You can easily bypass all the geo-restrictions and also access router easily with VPN. Basically, A VPN is much more sophisticated Internet liberation tool as compared to a proxy. So, firstly, it won’t be easy for your network management personnel to hinder its operations. Secondly, a VPN is much more secure as compared to a proxy. A VPN not only helps you unblock everything at school; but, it also enhances your security and protects your data from unauthorized access.
