OpenVPN will attempt to reconnect but if there is a connection timeout from the server then all further attempts permantely stop.
It generally means that passing through a bad signal area almost always result in VPN connection drop with no attempt to reconnect.
Last time I checked, the Cisco OpenConnect appears to keep connecting indefinitely unless instructed to stop by the server.
iOS 6/7 with no custom profiles besides basic OpenVPN, using sample client config file from openvpn distribution.
update: after passing through a no cell/wifi area and entering a wifi area and establising a connection I see
Pausing (network is unavailable)
message in OpenVPN application.
a manual disconnect/reconnect was required to establish a connection again.
Is there a way to keep OpenVPN alwyas connected?
