Resolving hostnames to windows computers on android?

Hi,

I got a openvpn setup on my home server which allows to access my home network shares (smb). The name resolve works fine with windows machines using a wins service on the same server that runs openvpn. However, android device i've tested cannot resolve hostnames, why is this? I'm using the same configuration for the phone as for the windows machines.

What have i missed here?
