Hello,
I've a strange issue with openvpn:
There are two different virtual machines, running on two different hosts. They aren't part of the same network...
VM1: running in VMware Workstation 10x, Hostsystem Windows 8.1.
The VM is a preconfigured suse based linux machine.
After the initial setup i start my startup script and see the packages updating.
The script completes successful. I type in the bash as root: restart service openvpn - the result is, there is a tap device (in ifconfig) ok.
VM2: running in VMware Workstation 10x, Hostsystem Windows XP.
It's the same VM, the difference is, that it runs in a domain with a hardware firewall (with forwarded ports DNATed).
I start my startup script, the sources and packages get updated, everything is fine.
After the succesfuly completion i do the same as above described, but i can't see the tap device when running ifconfig.
My question is now, whether the tap device comes up, even there is a blocked port or a different problem or not...
Thank you in advance and sorry for my poor english.
with best regards!
OpenVPN doesn't show TAP adapters / devices
