OpenVPN without TAP

Good Morning

I use OpenVPN several years and it works good.

But there is one thing that I wish me. Use the VPN Client without TAP device. The advantage, that you can portable use of OpenVPN very easy.
I know then you have no full network access. But most time it is enough that you can access to some Ports that then bond to the localhost. (For example RDP, Proxy Server, ...)

At the moment I use the SSH protocol for these things. But their some thing that I missing, e.g. tunnel over HTTPS
