identical crt verifiation error when connectin from openvpn

Post by ginga » Mon Aug 12, 2013 8:43 pm

Hello,

I've got a strange problem that I haven't faced before.
When I connect to the VPN using Tunnelblick (openvpn 2.2.1/2.3.2), everything works just fine.
When I attempt to do that using openvpn client, I get an error message:
VERIFY ERROR: depth=1, error=self signed certificate in certificate chain: /C=US/ST=CA/L=SanFrancisco/O=Fort-Funston/OU=changeme/CN=changeme/name=changeme/emailAddress=mail@host.domain

I use identical certificates!
openssl verify -CAfile returns OK

Previously it worked just fine.

Any clues what may have gone wrong?

I tried to update openvpn n buuntu 10.04, but repo certificate server
http://repos.openvpn.net/repos/apt/conf ... pshots.txt
does not work for me: HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 Forbidden
will try to build it myself.

Help is much appreciated!

Gintas
