Authentication problems through proxy.

Post by haroldofurtado » Thu Jul 04, 2013 7:14 pm

Hi,

I'm having a little problem here.

In my company is necessaire to authenticate through a proxy.

In a windows plataform it was really easy just creating a file called userpass.txt. In the first line I wrote the username and in the second line the password of my proxy and placed into conf folder, then I added into .ovpn client file:

http-proxy [proxy ip] [port] userpass.txt basic

and everything worked great.

But now I have to access the VPN through my proxy from an iPhone device. I downloaded the OpenVPN and sent the .ovpn file via e-mail.

As long the file userpass.txt can't be accessed it wont work.

I tried everything to fix that issue but nothing worked.

Somehow I have to input the username and password of the proxy into the .ovpn file to be able to connect again.

Anyone knows how to help me in this case?

Thanks

Proxy setup works differently on iOS -- it is configured from the UI rather than .ovpn file. Go to the OpenVPN Settings in the Settings app and configure it there.
