Custom Client Software

Hi, i have a growing openVPN network and im looking into trying to cut down the tasks required for users to log on to the openVPN.

I am a software develper particular users have some software written by myself that communicates to computers around the world opver the openVPN network. So what i would like to do is simply embed the "client connection process" into my software. So instead of them having to right click on the config and "start openvpn using this config" and have it running in the console, i could just have it as a button in software to connect/disconnect.

The problem is im having absolutly no luck finding any information about how i could go about this.

Could anyone point me in the right direction to any information about how i can acheive this?
