How to connect to other services on openvpn gateway itself?

Post by caseybea » Thu Mar 07, 2013 5:23 am

Openvpn gateway running on a RHEL5 server- **and works like a charm! I have full access to everything I need to all of my hosts on the network where the OpenVPNas server resides.

EXCEPT-- I cannot access any other services on the openvpn access server ITSELF-- such as ssh, or web services I have running on other ports.

I *do* have the checkbox ("allow client access to network services") checked to YES, and have restarted services, but no dice.

I think I'm missing something simple, but what? Really need to get to some other services on the box itself-- it's sort of a multipurpose sysadmin server.

Thanks for any advice to my (hopefully?) simple question!

As far as I can tell, the "should clients be allowed to access network services on the VPN gateway IP address" function does not work as advertised.

I was able to solve my issue by enabling the "Should VPN clients have access to private subnets (non-public networks on the server side)" button.
