I'm looking to select a VPN freeware provider and gathering information to make a choice, I've researched many already without any positive results. There is a lot of bull and promises being thrown around about VPN Freeware and I have just a few simple questions that all seem to try and dodge. Here are my questions:
Most of these sites claim anonymity until they are court ordered and then they will throw you under the bus so quick it isn't funny so basically they aren't a truly effective VPN as per the definition!
Is this a site that doesn't keep any ,logs which would allow you or a 3rd party to match an IP address and a time stamp to a user of your service? If so, exactly what information about me would they hold.
Under what exact circumstances would they share the information they hold with a 3rd party? Such as a court order like has been done in the past. Basically will they honor DMCA request or refuse it, and can they show me in writing where they state that! Can you help answer these questions for me, no one else could either answer them or give a straight forward answer. Your up what can you tell me?

Re: Searching for the right VPN.
Be they free or paid, VPN services are NOT completely anonymous.
In a world in which there are so many terrorist threats - real or imagined - governments have the right of access to logs kept by VPN service providers. On paper, VPN service providers always claim to NOT keep logs; however in practice they are required by law to do so. Just a few years ago Sweden required all local VPN service providers to keep logs. Romania who many people thought was the last frontier recently ordered its VPN service providers to keep logs as well.
For your information, the US government requires all VPN service providers who own servers in the country to keep logs. It does not matter whether these VPN companies have their headquarters based in the USA. The US government does not need court orders to compel VPN companies to submit logs. The Patriot Act empowers the FBI to have access to the logs without a court subpoena.
