Is OpenVPN for me?

Post by wpmccormick » Wed Oct 17, 2012 10:22 pm

I've been browsing FAQ's and forum posts but I'm not seeing the quick answers that I'm looking for:

I need a very light-weight, small foot-print VPN server, installed on Debian Linux - Squeeze, to maintain an array of industrial automation installations (N,N+1,...) from a single location (A). Each installation LAN (N) has a number of Ethernet devices (n,n+1,...), one of which will be the Linux box (n). A tunnel should be able to be opened at either end (A or N) and all devices (n,n+1,...) need to be accessible from LAN A. It is not required that devices on network N have a route to N+1.

Is OpenVPN a viable solution?

Thanks,

Bill
