Hi,
May be I am posting in the wrong forum sorry about that but I don't know exactly where should I start from.
I want to add VPN settings to my ipad so I can browse internet using it.
I have a VPS server running under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and I want to configure it to accept VPN connections from the devices like Ipad.
Please tell me what should I do...

if your client device is an ipad you're out of luck on this forum - there is no openvpn client for Apple's iOS.

Thank you for your reply.
Does it have to work through a client?
Isn't it possible to connect to it by entering l2pt, Ipsec or pptp information after configuring my server?

yes, openvpn requires client software; if you want to use pptp/l2tp+ipsec then set up pptp or ipsec on your ubuntu server. That is outside to the scope of this forum, however.
A good starting point for setting up IPsec is http://ipsec-howto.org/
