Newbie Install VPN client on a CCTV Linux server

Post by frank451 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 1:41 pm

Hi

I have a CCTV server (nvr/dvr) that is based on extlinux, it currently as Ethernet connections. I want to be able to add 3G dongle support (USB or mini pci) and then install a VPN client to connect aggressively via IPSec. The Linux backbone is all done via cli apart from a small menu system that as Ethernet config options for setting LAN ip address. So the 3G dongle drivers would have to be loaded during the boot process and connection made to the Internet and then an auto VPN connection.

Is it possible easily for a Linux newbie-ish

Thanks

install a VPN client to connect aggressively via IPSec.

if you need to use an IPSec client then this is the wrong forum to post to - OpenVPN and IPSec are incompatible.
