Is it possible?
Thanks

Re: my other wish
OpenVPN over ICMP is an interesting approach. It will however most likely not happen in OpenVPN 2.x. We've put down a roadmap for OpenVPN 3 [1], which will have a more modular design which should make it more easy to manage such an implementation. OpenVPN over HTTP and DNS queries are suggested approaches. But somebody needs to write that code some day.

I have a lot to learn about networking and protocols - I had no idea you could even do something like that. Zoinks.

It's not impossible, but it's harder to do, and it is basically a massive hack and abuse of the ICMP protocol.Douglas wrote:I have a lot to learn about networking and protocols - I had no idea you could even do something like that. Zoinks.
However, ICMP packets may carry a data payload. Remember the old days of ping-flood DoS attacks? It's basically just a more useful way of using ICMP. Those ping-floods would just have a larger payload of rubbish, and come in an insane speed.
