Hi there,
currently i'm trying to configure an openvpnas for one of my customers.
Therefore i want to have the original appliance (vmware esxi based) to have the best possible supports once i bought the license.
The challenge is: i want to configure two nic's to have an internal and an external interface so seperate the networks. But unfortunately i didn't find the related options on the webinterface to have the second interface configurable.
Can somebody of you give me a short howto configure this scenario ?
Thanks in advance
martin

Please elaborate more. If you want to configure each interface with its IP, you can SSH to the appliance and configure them with linux commands.i want to configure two nic's to have an internal and an external interface so seperate the networks.

Hi Mimiko,
thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to be not a native speaker, so let me try to explain it in another way.
My goal is to configure the openvpn-as vm-image that way to have one ip-interface for external dialin (only webinterface to login with openvpn-connect) and another internal ip-interface to connect to the internal lan and configure the appliance.
Therefore i've opened a support-ticket to ask if and how this is possible. I received the answer that this would be the recommended design to implement the appliance, but not where to configure both interfaces and asign them to their roles.
So, in fact i have no idea where to find this configuration-taks, and also i want to do it by the given tools and not by hand via ssh (ifconfig eth1, etc). I've just created another vm with more than 1 nic, but this nic was not listed on both (5480 and 943) webinterfaces. Or i'm forced to preconfigure the second eth to have it visible in the webinterface ???

The option to cinfigure eth1 is to ssh to the appliance.

Hi mimiko,
you want to expand on that with some actual ways to configure the interface? if you cant be bothered adding more info that one line then don't bother replying to begin with.
Martin,
i know exactly what you want to do and in a networking scenario what your doing makes perfect sense, i'm very new to openvpn so im looking around for info on how to do some of the basic things as well, if you did find a way to do what mimiko has said i would love to know what you did and how.
so far if this is the kind info people in openvpn forums give i don't think i will bother with the product.
Thanks,
