VPN cannot work remotely

Post by icekin814 » Sat Aug 06, 2011 5:29 pm

Hi,
I am a newbie at this but i am desperately trying to get this to work for the office. I am using OpenVPN server v1.8.0 installed on RHEL ( Red Hat Enterprise Linux) 4.8. The VPN server (101.101.1.21) is behind a firewall/router with a public address. I can access the client remotely by using the https://(public_address). I even get the screen to download the client VPN. However, once it installs, i get a screen asking me "Do you want to allow connections to this (public address) ?" Once i click yes, it tries to set up the connection but then goes back to the same question. By the way, on the Local LAN network, i can access the network as a VPN client i.e I get an IP address from the pool that i defined. This problem only exists when i connect remotely. Can you please let me know what i am doing wrong?

the admin GUI for the openVPN access server is

https://gulfsys.dyndns-office.com/admin/

username: openvpn
password: openvpn

and the client interface is at this address is

https://gulfsys.dyndns-office.com/

username: openvpn
password: openvpn

I would greatly appreciate any help on this.
