Hi,
I would like to create openvpn config using my socks5 proxy having username and password.
My main intention is to route all traffic through a container but is it possible using VPN and not through proxy connection.
My application works with openvpn connection but I want to create vpn connection using my socks5 residential proxy.
I tried creating a configuration file using my socks5 proxy but it is asking for cipher and ca certificate.
Is it possible to create openvpn config without cipher and ca certificate and make it work using openvpn client?
Is there any other way to create or change config to use my socks5 residential proxy with username and password through openvpn client?
Thank you

Re: Create OpenVPN config for socks5 proxy
I had this exact issue—ended up replacing the exact-cert directives in my *.ovpn file. After re-exporting the server config (without inline <ca>, <cert>, <key> blocks) and referencing them via file paths, OpenVPN Connect v3 started connecting reliably. Worth a try!

If you're still facing issues with connection speed or stability, it might be worth checking your proxy setup. Sometimes switching to high-performance datacenter proxies can help. Visit this site for a solid option.
