Bleck certain websites in openvpn clientside

Post by xauen » Fri May 13, 2011 1:42 pm

hello,

Hope someone can answer me.
I want to block certain websites from vpn client side access. Eg. are torrent sites that may be used by heavy downloaders. I want to control the bandwidth.

Can you please help me out.

Thanks,

openvpn is about providing access , not about restricting it. On Linux you can use 'tc' (read LARTC) for throttling downspeeds and you can use iptables to block websites. For Windows openvpn servers you will need third party software.
OpenVPN won't do this for you (nor should it).

Topic closed and pending being moved when I figure out the most appropriate place for it.
