sorry, static key encryption mode(non-SSL/TLS) not supported

Post by barach2 » Fri Sep 27, 2013 12:14 pm

I use a static key
<secret>
-----BEGIN OpenVPN Static key V1-----
-----END OpenVPN Static key V1-----
</secret>
my log: EVENT: CORE_ERROR option_error: sorry, static key encryption mode (non-SSL/TLS) not supported [ERR]

when will the static key support levels(non-SSL/TLS)? if anyone knows when it will be updated?

Please don't hijack a dead thread.
In any case --secret mode (i.e. static key) is deprecated and will be entirely removed in the future.
Using --secret mode is a security threat and should be avoided.
